Habiba Khatun was born on January 12, 1952. Her father, the late Shaikh Abul Khayer was a graduate from Calcutta Islamic University and worked at Bangladesh Postal Service. Her mother, the late Hamida Khatun, was a homemaker. She was the eldest among her siblings. Based on the social situation, she got married at the age of 14 while studying at high school. After marriage, her education was stopped and she became a housewife. She had four daughters and two sons. She always struggled economically and understood the power of a good education. Her husband was the headmaster of Hashadah High school. The two shared the priority to ensure their kids would become well-educated and established by themselves. Habiba Khatun was very gentle, always helped others, and encouraged girls to have a great education and to be independent. She left our world at a very early age of 52 on April 10, 2003. The foundation is focused on supporting girls like her to empower them and help them gain the ability to build their lives the way they want.
